Aha - but it is now Sounds - and get_iplayer for Radio doesn't work anymore.

Are you basing this assumption on one program which didn't work, which
does work for others?

I managed to download it with hlastd after I was told hafstd was not
available. What are hlastd and hlalow? Have I missed something?

I am someone who pretty much exclusively uses get_iplayer for radio 4
programmes, mostly with the web interface but sometimes with the command
line, I use the default settings rather than specifying any specific stream
etc. It all seems to be business as usual here (and for others that have
posted since) so it looks like it may be something specific to the original
posters settings or the command used that was causing the failure.

Not to say that the new "sounds" front end won't cause changes to the back
end at some point that will break get_iplayer, but that was/is always the
case irrespective of the BBC's recent changes.

So, in answer to the question in the subject, nope, Radio 4 is not screwed.

Cheers

George

Not only can I not find hlastd and hlalow in modes ref
https://github.com/get-iplayer/get_iplayer/wiki/modesref

but they seem to violate the convention that the std suffix for radio
means 128kbit/s. The download I got from hlastd1 was 320kbit/s, and it
was version shortened; original was said to be unavailable.

hello

I have been able to download the episodes by pasting the pid into a a
command line.
~/get_iplayer-3.17/get_iplayer --verbose --mode=best --type=radio
--pid=b04g10zc,b04fc80v,b04dqlbv,b04d4sbs,b01380pf,b0132k50,b012ww6h,b012r6jq

.get_iplayer/radio.cache is populated with future programs from BBC
Radio 4 & BBC Radio 4 Extra.

not sure what this change may mean in the long term.
someone will sort it out.
